Who we are
Iglesia El Faro, Evangelical Free Church, was truly part of God’s will for the city of Lebanon.
In the city, there are young people that need a reason to live.
There are many young people and children that need role models. Iglesia El Faro’s vision is centered around the family and the stability of the family.
The church is growing; fifty percent American and fifty percent Hispanic. We started in 1999. We are a Bible based church that teaches that Jesus Christ is “the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus.
History
In June 2002 we started meeting together with four families at the Lebanon Valley Youth for Christ building downtown. We did this with the idea of forming a Church in the city of Lebanon.
With great effort and sacrifice, we became a church on the premises of Lebanon Valley Youth for Christ. We held Sunday school on steps of the building, in crowded rooms, and in homes of members who lived nearby. Our “sanctuary” was extremely small. We had to cram the worship team, music equipment, and the entire congregation in a 22 ft by 28 ft room.
We began to dream about a big building that would fit the vision of our church. God opened doors for us to purchase the big school building on 10th Street!!! We share the vision and have partnered with many different community ministries and churches such as Lebanon Valley Youth For Christ, Lebanon Area EFC, Hershey EFC, Susquehanna Valley EFC, Hope Community EFC in Elizabethtown, and our Eastern District Association of the EFCA.
